This year, MedLink Georgia proudly marks 50 years of serving Northeast Georgia, providing accessible, comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families across the region. From a single clinic in Oglethorpe to a network that now serves tens of thousands of patients, MedLink’s journey reflects a steadfast commitment to quality care, compassion, and community impact.

“Quality care means making sure every individual and family has access to the services they need,” says MedLink leadership. “As we celebrate this milestone, we remain dedicated to patient-focused healthcare that supports the health and strength of our communities.”

Since its founding in 1976 in Oglethorpe as a small clinic staffed by just a few healthcare professionals, MedLink has grown into a regional network serving tens of thousands of patients across Northeast Georgia. With early federal support as a Section 330 Primary Health Care Center, MedLink expanded its services through the 1980s and 1990s, opening new centers in Bowman, Colbert, Hartwell, Royston, Gainesville, Winder, and Rabun, and adding pharmacy, diabetes care, and behavioral health programs. Over the years, specialized care continued to grow with addiction recovery services, women’s health clinics, school-based programs, and expanded imaging, while new administrative and clinical facilities strengthened MedLink’s capacity to serve the community. Today, MedLink’s network reflects decades of growth, innovation, and dedication, demonstrating a deep and lasting commitment to making healthcare accessible, comprehensive, and patient-focused. 

In 2024, MedLink was honored as Madison County Chamber Impact Business of the Year, a testament to the dedication, compassion, and hard work of its staff. Leadership expressed gratitude to patients, staff, and community partners for their trust and support over the past five decades.

As MedLink celebrates this 50-year milestone, the organization looks forward to continuing its mission of delivering affordable, patient-focused healthcare, growing services, and strengthening the communities it serves. Plans for anniversary celebrations and special events will be shared throughout the year.
